Skin Screening

SkinIO is the easiest way to get an annual skin screening—it can be done from home in just 15 minutes. Using a smartphone, members take clinical-grade photos of their skin which are securely sent to a board-certified dermatologist for review.

Why Skin Screening Matters

  • One in five Americans will develop skin cancer by age 70
  • 100% of melanomas can arise from new spots or changes to existing spots
  • Risk for melanoma doubles if you have had five or more sunburns

How SkinIO Works

  1. Download the SkinIO app and activate your account using organization code ASBAIT48.
  2. Get a family member or trusted friend to spend 10 minutes taking photos of your skin using the app.
  3. Photos are securely encrypted and sent to a dermatologist for review.
  4. Results arrive within a few days.

What Happens Next

After photos are submitted, a board-certified dermatologist reviews the images and determines if there are any spots to be concerned about. Members receive an email with one of two recommendations: no follow-up required at this time, or a recommendation to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist.

Is SkinIO a Diagnosis?

No. SkinIO is not diagnostic. A dermatologist will remotely review the skin and recommend if an additional exam is needed. If you notice anything of concern on your skin at any time, contact your doctor immediately.
